28mm and Tamiya 1/48 comparison

There has been a lot of debate recently on whether Tamiya 1/48 figures can match existing 28mm figure ranges.  Out of curiosity, I decided to get a couple of Tamiya sets, paint them up and see if they fit in with my existing 28mm figures.  Here is a half squad of Tamiya 1/48 US infantry figures:
